The Muslim Students’ Association of Queensland University of Technology (MSA-QUT) is established to serve and represent the needs of Muslim students at QUT as well as the wider Muslim community in and around Brisbane city. It provides an opportunity for the students to come together in a supportive Muslim environment and also seeks to educate and raise awareness about Islam and Muslims on and off campus. Activities and events are organised annually by the MSA that are open to all students and community members such as the Welcome BBQs and Da‘wah stalls organized every semester. Jumu’ah prayers are held each week and Musollahs for the five daily prayers are available on both the Gardens Point and Kelvin Grove campuses. During the month of Ramadan, the MSA organizes daily iftar dinners as well as Taraweeh prayers. An annual Big Iftar event is also organized in collaboration with QUT that welcomes all members of the community to experience the fasting month with the Muslim students.
